Join painter and animator Jaron Newton for a masterclass in chiaroscuro painting. In the three-hour workshop, students will hone the art of painting with shadow and light to capture visual depth and emotion in a piece.

Aurelio del Muro Balandran Spotlight Exhibition at the Bronx River Art Center

Mexican mixed media artist Aurelio del Muro Balandran presents his most recent exhibition, Lands of Wandering Souls (Trazos Errantes), at the Bronx River Art Center. The del Muro Balandran collection of sculptures and painted works, drawing from pre-Hispanic, medieval art and newspaper layouts, are a representation of the artist’s fondness with intuitive creating. In addition to spotlighting del Muro Balandran’s artistic chops, the opening reception will also feature a Fandango-style jam session for the art enthusiasts.

The Bronx: The Way It Was Presentation

The Yonkers Public Library will host The Bronx: The Way It Was, a Zoom presentation staging the history of the Bronx through photographs and interviews. The virtual program will include 450 vintage photographs and interviews with Bronx-born celebrities.

Euro 2024 and Copa America 2024 Live Watch Party

Clinton Hall welcomes soccer aficionados to the Euro 2024 and Copa America 2024 finals watch party. While doors open at 2 p.m., the Euro 2024 live watch party will begin at 3 p.m. and the Copa America 2024 watch party starts at 8 p.m. The day of edge-of-the-seat soccer watching will also feature intermittent music by DJ BlazinB and Clinton Hall’s signature eats.
