Bronx residents have hit the jackpot in two recent New York Lottery games, with one top-prize and one third-prize winning ticket sold locally.
On Nov. 6, a top-prize-winning ticket worth $32,715 was sold for the Take 5 Evening drawing at NYC St. Ann’s Wine & Liquors, located at 210 Saint Ann’s Ave. The winner, whose name has not been disclosed, has up to one year from the draw date to claim the prize.
For Take 5, numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39, and drawings are televised daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Additionally, on Nov. 9, a third-prize winning ticket for the Powerball drawing was sold at Castillo Meat & Produce, located at 965 E. 172nd St. The ticket is worth $50,000.
In Powerball, winning numbers are drawn from a pool of one to 69, with the red Power Ball drawn separately from a field of one to 26. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Both games are run by The New York Lottery, North America’s largest lottery, which benefits public schools across New York State, contributing $3.8 billion in the fiscal year 2023-2024 alone.
