Learn about local birds with a special focus on those that are currently migrating through NYC. Whether they’re birds of prey soaring high in the sky, ducks dabbling on the water, or songbirds that frequent the farm, they’ll be celebrating with us!

The Bronx Bash Scavenger Hunt

You’ll walk or drive to the various checkpoints as you interpret creative tasks, accept wacky challenges, and get outside your comfort zone!

Running Group

This beginner’s 5K running program is a 10-week program that gets you ready for your first 5K. It’s an easy-to-follow program consisting of 3 days of active running/walking intervals that gradually builds to more time running than walking. The program also includes activities for non-running days to maximize performance and recovery. This program is designed for anyone starting their running journey, anyone with a goal to run a 5K and for anyone coming back to running after some time off. The class is led by a running coach who provides guidance, support, and motivation to help achieve the goal. Running group will meet in front of the WBO Recreation Center and start running at 6:35.

Mindful Mandalas and Collages

This program will take place in person at the Westchester Square Library Branch. Honoring Mental Health Awareness Month, this week participants can choose to unwind with mandalas or create a collage. Create colorful mandalas using our variety of markers, colored pencils, and crayons or create your own collage using old magazines. Studies show that coloring and creating collages can have positive effects on mental health, offering a creative outlet for emotional expression, stress reduction, and enhanced self-awareness. We value your mental wellness. Bring a friend or just take time for yourself to relax.
