In celebration of Memorial Day, Assemblyman Michael Benedetto saluted a veteran from each veterans post with a NYS Assembly Veterans Recognition Award at the Throggs Neck Memorial American Legion Post 1456 on Saturday, May 28. The occasion marked the first time this award had ever been presented. The assemblyman presented awards to Jesse Ray Pereira, AMVETS Post #38; William Saleh, Theodore Koroney Post #253; Richard Calbi, Lawrence F. Keane Post; George Brins, Samuel Young Post #620; Llewelyn Waterman, Co-op City Post #1871; James Hexner, John Fraser Bryan Post #19; Robert Booth, American Legion Hawkins Post #156 and Joseph Recuppio, Throggs Neck Memorial Post #1456.
