For the first time in the relatively brief history of Temple Hatikva, there will be a wonderful “Simcha” (happy event) on Friday, July 15, at 7:30 p.m. with the baby-naming of Gershon Shmuel ben Mordecai.

Gershon is the son of proud parents Michael & Bethany Babchick, long-time Temple Hatikva members.Following the Services, there will be a celebratory Oneg Shabbat to mark this festive event.

Rabbi Harry Hertzberg, spiritual leader of Temple Hatikva, stated: “We are joyful to be able to be a part of this very special occasion.Events such as these confirm the growth of the Jewish community in the northeast Bronx. Our area is vibrant and exciting and a perfect place to raise a family. We congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Babchick and wish them a heartfelt Mazel Tov!”

The entire community is invited to this wonderful night, which is, of course, free of charge.

Temple Hatikva is located at 2440 Esplanade. The synagogue can be reached at (718) 792-1109 or at www.TempleHatikva.com.
