Calling all teens! Come hang out and dance the night away at Bronx Anti-Prom, the Library’s annual celebration for teens, featuring music, art activities, snacks, and more. Special outfits are optional… but always encouraged! Anti-Prom welcomes and celebrates young people of all sexualities and gender identities and expressions. Register now for free! This event is TOTALLY FREE, although you do have to be between the ages of 12 and 18 to RSVP. (Proof of age is required and you must check any bags on arrival.)

Big Truck Day!

Strap on your seatbelt and head over to Randall’s Island Park for our free, annual Big Truck Day celebration! Get a close-up view of the large vehicles that keep New York City clean and safe. Learn how garbage truck drivers, police officers, farmers and other big truck operators use these vehicles to drive our city forward. Visit each truck and learn from the operators themselves about how they use their truck every day. You might have the chance to sit in the front seat and pose for a photo! There will also be story time, snacks, games and other truck-related activities. Hart Island Tour (South Island)

Hart Island is the largest public cemetery in the country and has served New York City since 1869. Hart Island’s history is connected to many communities with important stories to tell. During the South Island Tour, Rangers will explore what Hart Island meant to the people who lived there, worked there, and were/are buried there. Walking the South Island includes discussion of an amusement park, military history, multiple pandemics, historic buildings and more. Join the Urban Park Rangers to hear their history and their voices.

World Bee Day Movie and Photoshoot
