During the 2019 Iona College Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 18 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, U.S. Army specialist Nicho Jenkins surprised his wife Ivelisse Jenkins as she received her degree from president Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D.
Nicho and Ivelisse have not seen each other in nearly six months.
Specialist Jenkins is stationed at Ft. Drum in upstate New York and will return to base where he awaits further deployment by the end of the year.
Jenkins was especially proud to join his wife at her graduation, his service time has not allowed him to celebrate her final year at Iona including homecoming, and sorority and senior formal events to name a few.
