Nos Quedamos hosted ‘We Are Melrose Común-Unidad: Common Unity = Community’ on Saturday, July 21 at East 160th Street between Melrose and Elton avenues. This year’s exemplary honorees were Bronx Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa; John Dudley, Community Board 3 district manager; Bill Aguado, En Foco director and former Bronx Council on the Arts executive director; Raymond Figueroa, Friends of Brook Park organizer; Carmen Allenda, South Bronx Action Group director and the late Jose ‘Chema’ Soto’ Rincón Criollo, Rincón Criollo Community Garden founder and legendary urban green space pioneer.

MazArte Dance Company gave a crowd pleasing traditional Mexican dance performance.
