A popular Throggs Neck classic car show celebrated its biggest night yet!

Approximately 345 cars and countless spectators packed Trump Golf Links’ massive parking lot for the Throggs Neck Classic Car Cruise – Cruise Night #1 of 2018 on Thursday, May 24.

Car and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages enjoyed the Waterfront NYC’s delicious cuisine; live music performed by K J Acoustics; viewing a myriad of classic American muscle cars, race cars, hot rods, beaters, rat rodz, kustoms and stockers on display; purchasing TNCCC shirts printed by S&P Racing Tees and a special guest appearance by Bob Daly and the ‘War Horse’ Mustang II Funny Car Team.

The vintage automotive showcase raised $1,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“It was the biggest turnout we’ve had yet and we actually had a lot of car owners on a waiting list to enter the show,” said John Marano, TNCCC co-founder.

“The show got so big that we actually hit full capacity, but we were still able to have people enter the show whenever people left,” explained Nick Hooks, TNCCC co-founder.

Space was limited due to construction of the golf course’s new clubhouse, but Hooks anticipates to have twice the space by TNCCC’s next show.

Automotive aficionados traveled from Wappingers Falls, NY; Edison, NJ; Greenport, NY and Hartfort, CT to visit the Bronx event.

According to Hooks, the majority of them were former Throggs Neck residents and Bronxites who returned to support the show, see the neighborhood and catch up with old friends.

TNCCC was founded in 2016 by Hooks, Marano and Alex Mittermeier with the assistance of their families, close friends and the Bronx Mopars.

Since then it has become the biggest cruise night in NYC, averaging over 200 cars per event.

TNCCC is now held exclusively at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point.

All American-made rear-wheel-drive vehicles are welcomed to participate.

Celebrating its third year, TNCCC was manufactured from a passion for cars and the community.

“We have so many nice cars here in Throggs Neck, but we never had any type of event like TNCCC to fully appreciate them,” expressed Hooks.

He explained the show introduces the uninitiated to the automotive world in a family-friendly environment and dispels many of the scene’s negative stereotypes often depicted in such high grossing Hollywood flicks as ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise.

TNCCC’s Cruise Night #2 of 2018 is scheduled for Thursday, July 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Trump Golf Links. Rain date is Thursday, August 9.

Cruise Night #3 of 2018 will be held on Thursday, October 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Trump Golf Links. Rain date is Thursday, October 11.

TNCCC thanks Trump Golf Links for sponsoring and hosting its event, Ultimate DJ Entertainment Inc.’s Anthony Grimaldi for volunteering his time to play music, the 45th Precinct and 45th Precinct Auxiliary, Bronx Mopars and the many car clubs throughout the tri-state whose volunteer work made this show a ‘yuge’ success.
