Wednesday, January 20, 3:30 p.m. — Police reported an assault on the northbound 5 IRT train near East 160th Street and Prospect Avenue. A 38-year-old man had been sitting on the train with his wife when a ‘person of interest’ and the victim’s wife had a verbal altercation. The person of interest then assaulted the victim and ran out of the train.

Sunday, January 24, 4:08 p.m. — The police responded to a 911 call of a woman stabbed at 383 E. 141st Street. Arriving officers found the victim, a 59-year-old woman, with numerous lacerations to her body. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival by EMS.

Friday, January 15, 5:25 p.m. — According to police, a hate crime occurred when two men assaulted a victim while making anti-Muslim statements.

The attack occurred in front of 1075 Pugsley Avenue when the two young men knocked the victim to the ground and punched him in the face.

The victim suffered a black eye and bruising to his face.

Thursday, January 21, 8:30 p.m. — Police responded to the report of a person shot inside of 4666 Park Avenue.

When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso.H

e was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he died the next day.
