The Tyrone Ancient Order of Hibernians made a special presentation to retired Bronx FDNY lieutenant John Desmond Ryan, 16th Battalion, 5th Division, on Sunday, September 11 in remembrance of the 16 Brothers of the Ancient Order of Hibernians who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Late FDNY volunteer Martin Hurson, who died in the Long Kesh Prison Camp during the 1981 Hunger Strikes, was posthumously honored in the ceremony held at Ireland’s Kinturk Cultural Centre.
