Councilman Andy King, along with his wife Neva Shillingford King and the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program, hosted a holiday party, which included a holiday meal and gift giving, at the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program headquarters, 952 E. 218th Street. The party, which is held annually, saw more than 500 children and their families in attendance, who were able to meet costume characters Batman, Captain America, Iron Man and Mr. Met, the mascot for the New York Mets, as well as Santa Claus. The event also included games, face painting, dancing, singing, a DJ and a hot lunch buffet. Each child was able to select more than one toy or game to take home.
