On Monday, March 7, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. was among those on hand to discuss the benefits of educational travel for the 2016 Nat Geo Mundo Explorer Contest at Celia Cruz High School. One winning school from the Bronx, along with one winning school from Newark, NJ, will receive a full scholarship for summer travel with the National Geographic Student Expedition, which will be led by qualified trip leaders and a National Geographic expert. Celia Cruz High School is one of the 129 schools in the Bronx participating in a contest, which requires applicants to submit a short easy on what they feel they can contribute to the program, what they can accomplish through travel and why they should be selected.
