Local groups, schools march in Columbus Day Parade

On Sunday, October 11, adults, children, along with nearly 100 schools, community groups and marching bands, marched in the 39th annual Bronx Columbus Day Parade. Those who participated in the parade, including the NYPD, Morris Park Community Association, Morris Park Community Association and Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association, marched up Morris Park Avenue from White Plains to Williamsbridge roads. The parade, which was held as a preface to Monday, October 12’s Columbus Day holiday, was also attended by Mayor de Blasio, Senator Jeff Klein and Councilman James Vacca, among others politicians. Schools that attended the parade included St. Francis Xavier School, St. Theresa School, Preston High School and St. Catharine Academy.All Photos by Picasa
