In connection with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson and Commissioner Rosemonde Pierre-Louis of the mayor’s office to Combat Domestic Violence held an outreach event at subway entrances on East 161st Street on Tuesday, October 7. They were joined in the effort by NYPD and Transit District officers, and an OCDV outreach team, in distributing information to the residents of the community that informed them of the resources available to domestic violence victims. The effort was part of the OCDV’s Upstander campaign.
