WED, JAN. 7th, 2:15 p.m. – 352 East 141 St. A one year old child was rushed from Lincoln Medical Center to the Burn Center at Cornell Hospital in Manhattan, The infant was first taken to Lincoln’s Emergency Room to be evaluated and stabilized before medical officials could even thinking about taking the baby to the specialized facility. The infant had been burned by hot water on the back and left leg authorities indicated.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 2:20 p.m. – 419 Brook Ave. A local patrol officer arrested a 39-year-old Hispanic male. The Latino man was charged with illegal possession of a weapon. Recovered was a 38-caliber revolver.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 4:30 p.m. – 700 Westchester Ave. Detectives from the 40th Pct. Squad are working with Housing’s PSA # 7 officers as they dig into a shooting. The incident occurred at the St. Mary’s Housing Development officials indicated. A male had been treated at a local hospital for bullet wounds to the right side of the abdomen and the right hand.
41st PCT.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 3:05 p.m. – 1203 Westchester Ave. Police investigating a shooting ended up arresting seven persons. A 20-year-old male was found suffering a bullet wound to the foot. He was treated at Lincoln Medical Center for the wound. Official indicated that two guns were recovered and that the bullet wound might have been self-inflicted.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 1:05 a.m. – 926 Southern Blvd. Authorities were faced with a double shooting that claimed one life. A 19-year-old black male was shot in the left calf while a 21-year-old black male died from a bullet wound to the chest. A crime scene was preserved so that officers from the Emergency Service Squad could conduct a proper search for evidence that will assist investigators who are conducting the inquiry. Additional police officers were needed at the scene for crowd control.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 4:55 p.m. – 931 Westchester Ave. A search was conducted for a would-be-thief. The culprit, apparently a Hispanic male about 35 years old, at knifepoint attempted to rob the local White Castle. He fled with an empty cash box leaving the knife behind. Police officers checked the area looking for the would-be-thief, but also came up empty handed.
MON, JAN. 12th, 7:05 p.m. – 720 Hunts Point Ave. A 38-year-old Latino man was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center after being slashed twice. Both wounds were to the victim’s back officials report. An inquiry is underway by local detectives.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 1:00 p.m. – Lafayette and Garrison Aves. Police are looking for five black males. The group apparently harassed a Hispanic male threatening him with harm. An investigation is underway.
42nd PCT.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 2:00 a.m. – 1562 Vyse Ave. A gun was recovered when members of the Bronx Anti-crime Unit nabbed a 33-year-old Hispanic male. The culprit was in possession of a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol.
43rd PCT.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 10:30 p.m. – 1237 Virginia Ave. Police are looking into a shooting that sent a person to Jacobi Medical Center. The victim was suffering from a grazed wound to the head. Authorities at the scene redeployed additional police officers into the area as they searched for several black males who were reported wearing masks. Detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident.
MON, JAN. 12th, 11:55 a.m. – 1112 Fteley Ave. Police vouched a semi-automatic pistol after they arrested a 46-year-old Latino male. Recovered by authorities was a 22-caliber weapon.
44th PCT.
WED, JAN. 7th, 8:35 p.m. – Findley Ave. and East 168 St. Police removed another 45-caliber pistol from local Bronx streets. Arrested was a 28-year-old male who illegally possessed the weapon.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 9:40 a.m. – 1265 Nelson Ave. Five police officers required medical attention at St. Barnabas Hospital after they nabbed a suspect from a larceny. The suspect was in possession of a stolen vehicle when nabbed by police. The officers were all reported to have minor injuries.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 10:55 p.m. – 691 Gerard Ave. Patrol officers nabbed a culprit who was in possession of an illegal gun, made an arrest. Recovered by local officers was a 22-caliber pistol.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 5:25 a.m. – 1447 Macomb’s Rd. Authorities are looking into a shooting where a male was shot once in the abdomen. The unidentified victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition. Local detectives are going to handle the follow-up investigation.
MON, JAN. 12th, 10:00 a.m. – 1005 Jerome Ave. Authorities are investigating a domestic dispute that sent the male partner to Lincoln Medical Center. The male was treated for stab wounds to the face and hand as investigators interviewed the woman. Charges could be pending against both parties of the dispute.
45th PCT.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 1:45 a.m. – Hutchinson River Pkwy. and Hunter Ave. A 57-year-old man found lying in the street in the Co-op City area was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center. The male was discovered in the South Section of the housing complex. While at the medical facility, the man expired officials indicated. Police are looking to see if the death is suspicious.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 4:30 p.m. – Hutchinson River Pkwy. Traffic was halted on the parkway near the city-line after a four-vehicle accident occurred. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene to treat and transport the injured motorist.
46th PCT.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 12:05 p.m. – 1860 Billingsley Ave. Local patrol officers arrested a suspect after an illegal gun was recovered. Vouched by police was a 38-caliber pistol.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 10:20 p.m. – Jerome Ave. and East 181 St. Police officers from Highway 1’s Accident Investigation Squad were called to the busy intersection after a male traveling in a vehicle struck to el pillars belonging to the IRT # 4 line. Firefighters rushed to the scene from a nearby station to help free the motorist who was entangled inside the van. The man was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he expired.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 2:55 a.m. – 1764 University Ave. A 23-year-old black male required medical attention after being shot. The man was suffering from a bullet wound to the right calf when he arrived at St. Barnabas Hospital. Local sleuths will handle the inquiry.
MON, JAN. 12th, 9:30 a.m. – 2362 Jerome Ave. A 27-year-old man Hispanic male was arrested as a local police officer nabbed the man with an illegal gun. Recovered by police was a 9-mm pistol.
MON, JAN. 12th, 11:45 a.m. – 1989 University Ave. Investigators are looking into a robbery that occurred in a T-Mobile phone store. Four black males displaying handguns robbed the store of cell-phones and an unknown amount of money.
47th PCT.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 4:05 a.m. – 685 East 224 St. Undercover police officers from the Bronx Anti-Crime Unit nabbed another suspect who was in possession of an illegal gun. This time a 380-caliber pistol was taken off the streets of Wakefield.
SAT, JAN. 10th, 3:30 p.m. – 1343 East Gun Hill Rd. Police are looking for the person who conducted a robbery at a local business. The thief at gunpoint robbed the establishment of an unknown amount of money. No injuries were reported.
SUN, JAN. 11th, 2:05 a.m. – Wilson Ave. and East 214 St. While trying to take a suspect into custody, three police officers were injured. The suspect ended up in jail and the officers were treated at Jacobi Medical Center. Recovered from the culprit were 90 bags of what officials believe to be crack-cocaine.
MON, JAN. 12th, 10:00 a.m. – 3353 Seymour Ave. Emergency workers were alerted that an infant was in distress. Arriving rescuers found a two-month old baby unconscious in a crib. The infant expired officials reported.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 1:30 a.m. – 4001 White Plains Rd. Police officers from the Emergency Service Squad were summoned to the scene of a break-in. Apparently police officials at the site wanted the roof area searched for evidence after the burglary was reported.
48th PCT.
SUN, JAN. 11th, 2:00 a.m. – 2411 Prospect Ave. An investigation was launched after authorities learned that a Latino man had been shot twice. Arriving officers found the 62-year-old victim who was shot twice in the stomach. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital as other police officers gathered information from potential witnesses and conducted a search for evidence.
SUN, JAN. 11th, 3:45 p.m. – Clinton Ave. and East 176 St. A 17 year old male teen was arrested after being found in possession of an unregistered handgun. Patrol officers nabbed the teen who was in possession of a 38-caliber pistol.
49th PCT.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 9:30 a.m. – White Plains Rd. and Pelham Parkway. The driver of a livery cab was issued a summons after being involved in an accident. The vehicle for hire struck a three-wheel scooter being operated by an on duty police officer. The officer was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with back and neck injuries as a summons for passing a red light was given to the driver.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 11:50 p.m. – Bouck and Adee Aves. Under cover police officers arrested two males who happened to be in possession of an unregistered handgun. Taken into custody were two black males, ages 20 and 21 years old. Recovered by police from the Bronx Anti-Crime Unit was a 380-caliber pistol.
50th PCT.
WED, JAN. 7th, 5:50 a.m. – 3025 Godwin Ter. Local patrol officers took a Hispanic male into custody. The 30-year-old man was nabbed while in possession of a 38-caliber pistol.
MON, JAN. 12th, 3:45 p.m. – 3625 Tibbett Ave. Authorities took a 38-year-old Hispanic male into custody. The man needs to explain why he had a large quantity of guns in his home. The weapons were vouched for pending court use.
52nd PCT.
WED, JAN. 7th, 3:15 p.m. – 2640 Marion Ave. Investigators are looking to question the male partner of a 28-year-old woman. Her body was discovered by authorities inside an apartment house. The inquiry is underway by local detectives.
WED, JAN. 7th, 4:30 p.m. – 2559 Sedgwick Ave. A search was conducted for two males after a home invasion was reported. At knifepoint, the two culprits robbed the victim of an unknown amount of money.
THURS, JAN. 8th, 9:00 p.m. – Jerome Ave. and Bedford Park Blvd. Undercover police officers from the Bronx Gang Unit arrested a 14-year-old male. Members of the Bronx Gang Unit nabbed the male teen along with a TEC 9 semi-automatic gun.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 5:10 a.m. – East Gun Hill Rd. and Webster Ave. Emergency crews were sent to the busy intersection, only a few hundred feet from the Bronx River Parkway interchange, after a broken water main was detected. A survey of the neighborhood indicated that a ten-block area had low water pressure. Crews from the Department of Environment Protect after locating the leak isolated the main before making the required repairs. Sanitation crews were called to help sand the area to help control an icing condition.
TUES, JAN. 13th, 6:30 p.m. – Reservoir Oval and Holt Pl. A 30-year-old man making a delivery was a attacked by a bat-wheeling culprit. A Latino male was making a food delivery when a person using a baseball bat attacked him. The attacker fled with the food leaving the victim behind.
Housing
FRI, JAN. 9th, 12:10 a.m. – 735 East 163 St. Police officers from Housing’s PSA # 7 were summoned to the Forest Houses. Police were alerted that shots had rang out in front of the residential building. No one was struck by any of the bullets officials report. Detectives from the 42nd Pct. Squad are conducting the inquiry.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 2:50 p.m. – 372 East 152 St. Additional police officers were deployed into the area to assist Housing PSA # 7 officers after a woman was robbed. The robbery took place on the 5th floor hallway.
Transit
FRI, JAN. 9th, 10:55 a.m. – Third Ave. and East 149 St. Transit police officers from District # 12 required assistance from Emergency Service Squad officers. A suspicious suitcase was discovered on the IRT platform. These specially trained officers determined that the suitcase was not a threat.
Fire Log
WED, JAN. 7th, 9:35 a.m. – 108 West 174 St. City emergency agencies gathered at a public school after a gas leak was reported. Police officers and fire fighters evacuated 300 students from P.S. # 204 and the residents from surrounding buildings. Con Edison crews worked for hours to isolate the leak and shut down the appropriate supply line before officials could even consider to permit anyone to return to the buildings. Next each of the building had to be ventilated. Fire officials transmitted a second alarm at 12:58 p.m. and declared the incident under control at 4:37 p.m., 7 hours after it was first reported. Ambulance crews were on the scene for additional hour. The city’s office of Emergency Management coordinated the multi-agency operation.
FRI, JAN. 9th, 3:15 p.m. – 1511 Jerome Ave. A fire in a commercial building went to 2 alarm before officials declared the blaze under control. City busses were rerouted as hose lines and fire apparatus blocked the busy street and near-by intersections. Quickly after arriving at the site the local battalion chief requested additional help prior to the second alarm being sounded
