C.S. 300 students enjoyed playing at their school’s new state-of-the-art playground which they helped design and build in partnership with New York City. The 1.2-acre playground was unveiled by the Trust for Public Land and New York City at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 25 and it includes basketball hoops, a turf field, running track, bleachers, play equipment, safety mats, drinking fountain and green infrastructure elements, such as bioswales, a rain garden and specialized plantings. The playground’s green infrastructure components will allow the space to capture up to 700,000 gallons of stormwater runoff each year
