On Saturday, October 5, CS 211 The Bilingual School held a 50-year anniversary celebration at Maestros. The dinner also featured an open bar and music. CS 211 opened in 1969 as an experiment in bilingual education, with 640 students and 34 teachers selected from a pool of over 150 candidates. It was one of the first schools in New York to offer English as a second language. Core subject areas included English/Spanish as a Second Language and Spanish Enrichment.
