Police Investigate Fatal School Bus Hit & Run

Police are investigating a fatal hit and run involving an elderly woman and a school bus.

According to police, 43rd Precinct police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Story Avenue and Havemeyer Street on Thursday, February 14 at 9:48 a.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 68-year-old female laying on the roadway with trauma all over her body.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the pedestrian was attempting to cross eastbound on Story Avenue when she was struck by a yellow bus traveling southbound on Havemeyer Street.

The vehicle did not remain at the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
