Armed Homeless Bank Robber Arrested

Police have arrested a homeless man who allegedly stole money from a Bank of America in Pelham Parkway.

According to police, David Hylton, 33, was armed with a crossbow and grabbed over $7,210 from a Bank of America at 2198 White Plains Road on Thursday, January 25 at 10:15 a.m.

Hylton was arrested later that same day near a pizzeria where police found the stolen cash inside his pockets after frisking him.

Police recovered Hylton’s weapon inside an abandoned building at Barnes Avenue where he had been illegally residing.

Hylton has been charged with one count of bank robbery and could face 20 years in prison if convicted.
