The New York Road Runners’ Five Borough Series returned to the streets of the Bronx with the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile on Sunday, September 30. Leading the field of more than 12,000 runners were first place finishers Harbert Okuti of Uganda with a time of 48:36, and Beverly Ramos of Puerto Rico with a time of 55:15, a new event record. The day’s top Bronx finishers included Suleman Abrar Shifa, who finished sixth overall with a time of 49:53, and Belaynesh Fikadu, who finished as the second overall female with a time of 55:27.
