Bronx-based Centers Health Care, the largest and most complete post-acute health care continuum in the northeast, has announced that three of its Bronx facilities have been certified by Medicare.gov and US News & World Report with five stars, according to the results of the latest surveys completed this year.

The three Bronx based 5-star facilities include:

• Williamsbridge Center, was the first facility to begin the history in Center Health Care in 1996. The center still offers one of the top recreation therapy sessions anywhere in the Bronx.

• Hope Center, this 66-bed center on University Avenue mostly serves people who are HIV positive and those who have been troubled with drug addiction. Hope became part of Centers Health Care in 2015.

• University Center, a cozy 46-bed facility that became part of the Centers Health Care family in 2001 on Grand Avenue.

Centers Health Care had two additional non-Bronx facility receive a 5-star rating as well.

“Having five facilities in the Centers Health Care family achieve this status makes us extremely proud,” said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care. Additionally, I’m so delighted that our first facility, Williamsbridge Center, is still leading the way after more than twenty years,” he added.

These are the official ratings established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to develop 12 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) star ratings.

Its designed to make it easier for consumers to use the information to spotlight excellence in healthcare quality.

“From the bottom of my heart, I have to thank the entire staff from these five facilities for their commitment, dedication and hard work,” said Rozenberg. “This is all a result of the compassion and teamwork of our facility staffs, who are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the well-being of all our residents.”

The Centers Health Care family includes 45 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Kansas and Missouri; four home health care companies, NY State’s largest Managed Long-Term Care company and a provider of durable medical goods.

Their facilities also operate eight fully accredited Adult Day Healthcare Centers, two state-of- the-art Renal Dialysis Centers, three assisted living facilities and Centers Urgent Care which provides walk-in medical care.

More than 20,000 staffers and caregivers provide for the needs of over 7,000 long-term and short-term residents throughout the Centers Health Care family.

Rosenberg also expressed that his mission is to continue improving the overall health and wellness of the Bronx.

“We are extremely proud that Hope Center, University Center and Williamsbridge Center are all 5-star certified facilities by Medicare.gov. Everyday, our dedicated staff bring their heartfelt care to our residents and the families, so our staff are the main contributors to why Centers Health Care facilities keep striving for excellence,” said Roseneberg.

“Although these three centers are certified 5-stars, we are also proud of our other Bronx facilities that have been also given high ratings by Medicare,” he added.
