The warm weather had Bronxites springing into better health.

The NYC Department of Youth and Community Development welcomed the vernal season with its Spring Into Health Fair on Saturday, April 14 at P&J Beacon at I.S. 192.

The fair, sponsored by Councilman Mark Gjonaj, Phipps Neighborhoods, Community Board 10 and Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership, provided residents supplemental nutrition assistance; health insurance enrollment opportunities; blood pressure, vision and dental screenings and yoga, Zumba and CPR demonstrations.

Children enjoyed some much needed springtime fun after this year’s prolonged winter season.

Locust Point Civil Association and Preston Farmers Market’s Chrys Napolitano (l) joined Bronx Health REACH’s Juan Mendoza and Elecia Faiuaso in educating residents on healthier living.
