Retiring officer Ortiz honored by 49th Precinct

On Thursday, November 12, the 49th Precinct honored retiring police officer Owen Ortiz with a walk-out ceremony. Officer Ortiz, who is a stage-four cancer survivor as a result of tireless and selfless rescue efforts surrounding the tragic events of September 11, 2001, was joined by other officers of the 49th Precinct, along with family and friends, who congratulated and bid him farewell on his retirement.
