The third community protest in a little over a month took place on Sunday, October 5 outside the former hospital building at 1870 Pelham Parkway South that has been converted into low-income housing by a group called AIDS Service Center of New York. ASCNYC is a group known for serving people with HIV and AIDS. The protestors are raising objections that the Pelham Grand is now home to the formerly homeless or people with substance abuse problems. The organizers of the rally, which called on elected officials to find an alternative use for the site, were Egdio Sementelli and Patrick Stranzl.

Annette Sambolin and Sandra Falconi encourage residents to sign a petition against the use of the Pelham Grand.
