Students prepared for their return to the classroom at Third Avenue Business Improvement District’s Back 2 School Festival on Saturday, August 24 at Westchester Avenue between 3rd and Bergen avenues. Everyone shook off the ‘Back to School Blues’ with some live music and performances, rides and bouncy houses, face painting, local food vendors and family friendly activities.

Local students were ecstatic receiving their brand new backpacks.
Bronxites could quench their thrist with some freshly made drinks.
Local youth were given new notebooks during the celebration.
Councilman Rafael Salamanca (2nd from r) and his volunteers helped Michael Brady (r) distribute educational literature to guests.
Students of all ages were happy to receive their unique backpacks.
