Creating Unity in the Community presented Parkchester’s annual Kwanzaa celebration on Saturday, December 29 at St. Helena’s Church. The entertaining event featured live musical and dance performances, guest speakers and poets, delicious food, raffles and African art vendors.

Bombayo Dance Co. members gave a crowd pleasing performance.
Symbols of Kwanzaa adorned the stage.
Assemblyman Michael Blake celebrated Kwanzaa with Dustin.
(l-r) King Lagee, Debra Oguamah, Sarah Thomas and event emcee Nubia Grown welcomed everyone to the community celebration.
The Ancestral Drumming Band performed during the celebration.
