Rudy Macina Plaza Salutes Vets on Memorial Day
Flowers and flags were placed at the memorials honoring our nation’s fallen heroes from various historical conflicts.
On Monday, May 27, the Rudy Macina Peace Memorial Plaza’s Memorial Day Ceremony was held on Pelham Parkway and Williamsbridge Road. The event included the placement of a wreath by the monument, a rendition of ‘Taps,’ the raising of the colors by veterans’ organizations and remarks from local elected officials and veterans.
Morris Park Community Association’s first vice president Frank Agovino (l) and president Al D’Angelo paid their respects at the ceremony.
Bronx County American Legion commander Tony Salimbene (l) joined other veterans in saluting our nation’s fallen heroes.
John Fraser Bryan American Legion Post 19’s commander Earl Menard (l), Edward Deglomini (back, l) and Silvio Mazzella (c) joined others at the heartfelt ceremony.
Patriotism was in full bloom during the Memorial Day ceremony.
Local elected officials, community leaders and veterans joined in remembering the signifiance of Memorial Day.
