Leonard Hawkins American Legion Post 156 hosted the annual City Island Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27. Local organizations marched up City Island Avenue to the veterans memorial traffic circle for a ceremony honoring our nation’s fallen soldiers.

Members of the U.S. Navy participated in this year’s City Island Memorial Day Parade.
For the 57th consecutive year since 1962, Bill Gerhart played ‘Taps’ at the service.
Veterans performed a 21 gun salute in honor of the many service members who gave their lives to protect our nation’s freedoms.
The Leonard Hawkins American Legion Post 156 Auxiliary joined everyone in remembering our nation’s fallen heroes.
Laura Booth and Post 156 Commander Peter Del-Debbio laid down the wreath.
