NYC Parks, in partnership with the Bronx River Alliance, the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection joined in stocking the Bronx River with 400 alewife, a type of river herring, on Tuesday, April 9.

Councilman Andy King and Bronx Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa helped the volunteers re-establish the native fishes’ population in one of the nation’s most urbanized waterways.
