Borough President Diaz Delivers State Of The Borough Address
Borough President Diaz and his wife Hilda Gerena-Diaz shared a passionate kiss before this year’s State of the Borough Address.
Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. delivered his ninth annual ‘State of the Borough’ Address on Thursday, February 22 to a crowded auditorium at the Bronx High School of Science. In his speech, Diaz outlined the successes of his administration, highlighting that the Bronx had experienced dramatic decreases in unemployment and crime concurrent with a historic influx of private development and new housing units. The borough president discussed the future of the NYC Housing Authority, criminal justice reform and the opioid crisis among many other hot button issues impacting NYC and the borough.
Borough President Diaz waved and flashed peace signs to everyone before the main event.
“We will stand on the right side of history and nothing can hold us back,” stated Diaz during his address.
Assemblyman Michael Blake (r) wished Diaz well prior to his big speech.
