Klein Hosts First Responder Appreciation Barbecue

In keeping with tradition, Senator Jeff Klein saluted several local heroes at his eighth annual First Responder Appreciation Barbecue on Saturday, September 8 at SUNY Maritime College. The event honored the many courageous men and women who risk their lives daily to protect our borough’s residents.
The 45th Precinct’s NCO James Graham received congratulations from his wife Frances (back, l) and their daughter Isabelle.

NCO Gregory Hernandez happily accepted his award from Assemblywoman Fernandez.
Klein (c, front), Fernandez (2nd row, l) and Gjonaj (3rd row, l) joined in honoring EMTs, FDNY, and NYPD members from the Bronx and Westchester at SUNY Maritime College’s campus.
TNMA president Bobby Jaen (c) thanked and Police Service Area 8 NCOs Josselyn Paulino (l) and Stephanie Batista-Fernandez for their dedicated service to the community.
Deputy inspector Alps (r) congratulated his NCOs on their incredible accomplishments.
