Fordham University hosted its second annual Bronx Celebration Day on Saturday, April 21 at the university’s Rose Hill Campus Walsh Lot. The event was an excellent opportunity for Bronxites to learn more about the borough’s diverse culture, enjoy live musical and dance performances from local artists, support local vendors, tour Fordham’s massive campus and sample delicious global cuisine.

Vivette Smitherman sold many of her handmade hats and scarves at the borough celebration.
Afro Puerto Rican ensemble Bámbula’s Norka Nadal serenaded the crowd.
The Mazarte Dance Company entertained everyone with their traditional Mexican dances.
Alessandra Belloni and her band, ‘I GIULLARI DI PIAZZA,’ amazed the audience with her traditional southern Italian folk dances and percussion combined with singing she learned in southern Italy.
Bondoma Garifuna Cultural Band and Natalie Wodniak (c), Fordham Club Bronx Collaboration Committee co-chairwoman had a great time celebrating the Boogie Down Bronx.
