War Writing Workshops

The spring session of The Craft of War Writing, a writing workshop at the Morris Park Library, began Saturday, March 10 and will continue on into the spring.

The group meets on many, but not all, Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The writing is geared toward veterans and war tales, said Jeremy Warneke, a workshop facilitator, but covers many different themes.

It is for both veterans and the general public. For more information, including specific meeting dates, call the Morris Park Library at (718) 931-0636.

You can also visit www.VoicesFromWar.org or email info@voicesfromwar.org for details and registration.

The Morris Park branch is located at 985 Morris Park Avenue.

Throggs Neck Restaurant Tours To Be Ongoing

Mamajuana’s is in the process of organizing tours of restaurants in the Throggs Neck area starting with a trial run on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17.

It is for everyone to get to know the restaurants we have in the community and the different cuisine styles that we have in this part of the Bronx.

Event coordinators were working on finalizing a list of the restaurants planned for the first trial run as of press time, with a fuller roster expected when the tour is held again in May on Cinco de Mayo.
