Throggs Neck was awash in a sea of green for its time honored St. Patrick’s Day Parade. A hearty Irish breakfast was served prior to the parade at St. Benedict Church. Celebrating two decades, the Throggs Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 11 featured Celtic-clad marchers and bands traveling on East Tremont Avenue. This year’s groups consisted of local elected officials, schools, the FDNY, pipe and drum bands, community organizations and families representing this year’s honorary grand marshals journeyed down the route which sported a fresh green median and massive shamrock as thousands of Bronxites from all over the borough cheered from the sidelines.
