Serving in the U.S. Navy

A borough native is a part of the U.S. Navy’s Mobile Construction Battalion 133 based in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Wilfredo Romero works as a culinary specialist.

He is responsible for preparing meals for Seabees at the galley. The Seabees are the U.S. Navy’s construction force.

P.S. 14, the John D. Calandra School, would like to thank Milea Subaru at 3211 East Tremont Avenue for a generous donation of books for the children.

Halloween Celebrations

Centers Health Care will be sponsoring a variety of Halloween celebrations at various facilities it operates, the health system advises.

These include Center Health Care’s Beth Abraham Center at 612 Allerton Avenue, Triboro Center at 1060 Teller Avenue, Bronx Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare at 1010 Underhill Avenue, Williamsbridge Manor at 1540 Tomlinson Avenue and University Nursing Home at 2505 Grand Avenue.
