In honor of the 16th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Villa Maria Academy first graders remembered the heroes lost on that tragic day with a special ceremony on Monday, September 11.

School parents, aunts and uncles who are NYPD and FDNY members met the students in full uniform at the heartfelt service which included prayers, poetry and songs.

Each guest was presented a cookie tray to bring back to their precinct or firehouse as a sign of gratitude for keeping their communities safe.
