Friday, August 18 at 10:35 p.m. — Cops received a report of a dispute that turned into a shooting in front of 1575 Bathgate Avenue. An individual brandished a gun and shot the victim in the leg, chin and stomach. The shooter, described as a black man who weighs 150 pounds, fled the scene after the shooting. The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was in stable condition. The man with the gun had black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing jogging clothes.

44 Precinct

Tuesday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. — There was a report to police of a theft and assault on a vendor near Walton Avenue and East 170th Street. Three people approached a 48-year-old woman’s merchandise stand and posed as customers. They took jewelry that was on display and put it into their pockets. They did not pay. When confronted by the merchant, they punched her several times in the face, causing her to suffer bruising and cuts. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital and listed in fair condition.

45 Precinct

Friday, July 14 at 9:14 p.m. — Police responded to a shooting outside of 100 Elgar Place. An individual described as a man with a dark complexion in his early 20s, approached the 22-year-old victim and a dispute ensued. As the argument escalated, the man took out a gun and fired a round into the victim’s torso. The shooter then fled into the building through a rear entrance. EMS responded and took the victim to a nearby hospital where he was in stable condition.

Wednesday, August 16 at 11:00 p.m. — Cops got a report of shots fired into the air in front of a cafeteria-style restaurant at 1 City Island Avenue. The individual fired several shots from a gun into the air before fleeing in dark colored four-door sedan. He is described an Hispanic man who is between 20-years-old and 30-years-old. He was described of average height, weighing about 200 pounds and he had facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black T-shirt, gray shorts and black sneakers.
