Sunday, August 6 at 8:00 a.m. — Cops responded to a 911 call of an assault near Bathgate Avenue and East 173rd Street. When they got to the scene, they were told by a 36-year-old woman that she was accosted from behind as she entered the vehicle in what was an attempted sexual assault. A man she described as a male black who was about 25 years old tried to push her into the car and assault her. He punched her in the face, and when she fought back, the man fled. She was not seriously injured. She was bruised on her face. She declined medical attention on the scene.

45 Precinct

Tuesday, August 1 at 11:18 a.m. — Police are seeking the public’s help in finding an Hispanic man in his late 30s to early 40s who tried to rob a bank at 2725 E. Tremont Avenue. He approached an employee inside and made multiple verbal demands for money at different times before fleeing. The man fled with no proceeds. The man was of a medium building, about six foot tall and he had an unshaven face. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, red shorts and a red T-shirt.

48 Precinct

Friday, August 4 at 5:40 a.m. — It was reported to cops that two men exited a fairly new white Hyundai Sonata and entered a residence near Crescent and Belmont avenues through a side window. Once inside, they ransacked two bedrooms. In the process they took a gun inside the location. Both men wore hats and bandanas covering their faces. The Sonata had gold New York State license plates.

52 Precinct

Friday, May 12 at 12:45 p.m. — Someone entered a classroom inside of 250 Bedford Park Boulevard at Lehman College and took personal property. A wallet with credit cards and two Samsung cell phones were taken. A subsequent investigation showed that there was a person who was driving a black BMW who later tried to buy gas with one of the stolen credit cards at 2290 Boston Road.
