Bicyclist Crashes Into State Trooper’s Car

A bicyclist is recovering after crashing into a NYS Trooper’s vehicle last week in Throggs Neck. According to a NYS Police spokesman, the trooper car was traveling westbound on East Tremont Avenue while the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on the East Tremont Avenue on Tuesday, June 13 around 4:50 p.m. The bicyclist rode cut across traffic and attempted to squeeze between oncoming traffic, but struck the trooper’s driver’s side door. The man, whose name was not released, suffered minor abrasions to his hands, knee and face from the collision. The trooper’s vehicle sustained minor damage from the incident. The cyclist was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment. NYS Police investigated the incident and did not issue any summonses. Photo by Miriam Quin
