Real Dads Cook Just Desserts Competition

Several local fathers and their children got their ‘just desserts’ participating in a cooking competition.
Fathers from P.S. 1 and M.S. 29 showcased their culinary talents at the ‘Real Dads Cook’ competition on Wednesday, April 5 as part of the responsible fatherhood initiative sponsored by Administration for Children’s Services, Fathers Forward, the Bronx Fatherhood Coalition and Deeds Driven Dads with the desserts presented for judging, looking and tasting incredible.
Dads also engaged in discussion led by national fatherhood advocate coach Stevan Lynn regarding the importance of fathers cooking for their children on a regular basis, starting with basic dishes which are easy to prepare and nutritous.
Local dads and their children were excited to see who would be crowned this year’s Best Cook.

Stevan Lynn, Deeds Driven Dads CEO, was ready to serve a tray full of yummy boneless chicken.
Coach Stevan Lynn showcased his culinary skills with his mouth-watering fruit salad.
Nerva Medina (l) congratulated contest champion Rey Guzman who won movie tickets for his savory cherry cheescake.
Second place honoree Monet Johnson (back, c) and her son, Adonis Johnson, proudly displayed their prized movie tickets conferred to Johnson for her delectable yellow cake with butter cream frosting.
