Serrano Celebrates Women’s History

Congressman Jose Serrano formally recognized several distinguished women at his annual Women’s History Month Celebration on Friday, March 31 at the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

This year’s exemplary honorees included Noelle Santos, The Lit Bar Bookstore founder; Ana ‘Rokafella’ Garcia, renowned bgirl dancer; Holly Block, Bronx Museum of the Arts executive director; Deirdre Scott, former executive director for Bronx Council on the Arts and Vivian Bonnie Wright, Afrikan Women’s Repertory founder.

The event focusing on women artists fighting for justice was co-sponsored by Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene, councilmembers Vanessa Gibson and Annabel Palma and assemblymembers Latoya Joyner and Carmen E. Arroyo.
