Clinton Hall, a trendy burger emporium, opened its doors on Thursday, March 23 in Belmont.
The bar and grill combines beer, burgers and games to bring a unique experience to its patrons.
With a popular location already in Manhattan, owner Telly Hatzigeorgiou is excited about the young adults the Bronx location will attract.
“We love that area primarily because of the Fordham [University] students,” said Hatzigeorgiou.
However, he said the combination of experiences Clinton Hall offers creates something for all ages.
“We’re trying to create a concept that we feel is self perpetuating,” said Hatzigeorgiou. “You can come when you’re younger and when you get older and have kids.”
Clinton Hall prides itself on its unique selection of beer.
“We like to say ‘If you’ve heard of the beer, we don’t have it,’” Hatzigeorgiou said with a chuckle.
He said the company features a method called Supercraft in which they sell very unique and non-mainstream brews from all over the country.
The owner said certain brewers – that only release a few kegs of beer at a time – choose to sell their product to Clinton Hall because of their success and appreciation of certain types of beer.
Hatzigeorgiou said some of Clinton Hall’s customer’s drive two to three hours to try the beers they have on tap.

When it comes to the burgers, Clinton Hall features many typical choices such as sliders, burgers with bacon and cheese and even regular hamburgers with lettuce and tomato.
However, Hatzigeorgiou is proud of Clinton Hall’s more peculiar options such as the Cheetohs Burger and the Fondo Burger which features fries in the middle of the burger.
“We try to have fun with the burgers,” said Hatzigeorgiou.
Clinton Hall also has fun with its grilled cheese and donuts.
In the past they have offered the habanero bacon grilled cheese and the Walter White crystal method donut.
The donut, an ode to Bryan Cranston’s ‘Breaking Bad’ character, features an all-white powdered donut with raspberry and vanilla cream in the middle.
As for the games, Clinton Hall has both giant-sized and regular-sized boards for games such as connect four, scrabble and jenga.
The bar and grill also offers Cards Against Humanity.
Hatzigeorgiou said the games add a nice touch to the customers’ dining experience.
“We find more and more people want to go out and have fun and entertainment in addition to a good drink and good food,” he said.
Clinton Hall is at 601 E 189th Street – a few feet from the historic Arthur Avenue.
Frank Franz, chairman of the Belmont Business Improvement District, is excited to have Clinton Hall as a new addition to Arthur Avenue.
“We’re happy to have something that is professionally run and apparently a little more upscale coming up from the city and considering the Bronx for a change,” said Franz.
The BID chair was also happy to have the mural – which can be seen in the picture – that now covers the entire building.
Franz said the mural, painted by the artist Mr. June, is in line with beautification plans the BID has for Arthur Avenue.
Clinton Hall is open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight, Sunday to Wednesday and from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
