American History Shown Through Fashion

An exhibition entilted ‘Gilded Age Glamour: Fashions from the Bartow-Pell Collection’ opened to the public Saturday, February 13, at the Bartow-Pell Mansion. The event hightlighted unique pieces from the museum’s collection from the Gilded Age (c. 1870-1900) in American history, which was associated with opulence and luxury particularly when it came to clothing.Men, women, and children’s garments as well as period fashion illustrations were on display.
