Parque De Los Ninos Gets $1.6M Facelift

NYC Parks Mitchell J. Silver; Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.; Assemblyman Marcos Crespo, Councilwoman Annabel Palma, Community Board 9 Parks Committee chairman Jesse Mendoza and Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center children broke ground at Parque de los Ninos for a $1.6 million reconstruction project on Thursday, August 25. Funded by the mayor’s office and Diaz, the project includes reconstructing the playground and the seating area along Harrod Street. The new design includes safety surfacing and play equipment for children ages two to 12, new planting, steel fencing, a drinking fountain and replica benches from the 1964 NY World’s Fair. Reconstruction of the playground and seating area are expected to be completed by next summer.
