Mr. & Mrs. Nazzareno Magnarelli are proud to have announced the wedding of their daughter, Maria Maddalena Magnarelli to Anthony Joseph Benevento. The couple was married on June 14, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church near Arthur Avenue by Father Eric Rapaglia. The reception was held at the beautiful Villa Barone Manor with family and friends. The happy couple will honeymoon in Niagara Falls. We wish you all the happiness and love in the world. The Rotary Club of the Bronx held a joint sunset meeting with the Sons of Italy Uguaglianza Northeast Bronx Lodge #83 at Villa Barone Manor on Tuesday, June 17.
The group held its President’s/Paul Harris Dinner Dance at Marina del Rey on Thursday, June 26. The event saw the installation of Rick Sherman as president of the Bronx Rotary Club. Leslie Swanson, a soprano with the Bronx Opera Company, sang the national anthem. Former president of the club Dr. Arthur Wolstein, a centenarian, was honored with a special recognition award. Accepting the award on his behalf was his daughter-in-law Sandy Wolstein, who relayed a message of his secret to longevity: “just stay active.”
Baseball Dominance
A special shout-out from George Polgano to his son Jason Polgano, who was a dominant pitcher this year in the Catholic High School Athletic Association. He threw a perfect game and two no-hitters in a four game span, with an Earned Run Average of 0.48 and batted close to .500, his dad states.
