Come the end of 2014, we promise not to dredge these New Year’s resolutions up again to embarrass or chastise their contributors. Good intentions sometimes just don’t make it all the way. But hey, at least we can hope.
We polled a number of Bronx movers and shakers, as they say, for their good intentions, both personal and for the borough we all love.
As for us here at the Bronx Times Reporter, it’s pretty much what we try for every week – striving to deliver the important news of your communities and your borough in an informative and where needed, entertaining way.
Herewith, everyone else’s resolutions:
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
“The Bronx has come a long way in the past year. Our borough is not just leading the way in crime reduction but tens of thousands of new housing units have been constructed here, new businesses are coming to our borough and the existing businesses are growing. We are at the forefront in ‘green’ construction, with projects like Via Verde. We have major new projects such as the Kingsbridge National Ice Center and the PGA caliber golf course at Ferry Point Park , which complement our Borough’s crown jewels like the new Yankee Stadium, and the New York Botanical Garden. In 2014, Bronxites and visitors will witness groundbreaking projects coming to fruition, marking the Bronx as an
international destination for shopping and sports.
My new year’s resolution for the Bronx is to continue our work toward a brighter future for the residents of this great Borough we all call home.
Personal resolution: “For 2014 I’m making a resolution to be healthier by eating clean – and to cook more often for my wife.”

Personal resolution: Get the MTA to finally establish Metro North stations in my district.
Borough resolution: For the Bronx to get ferry service.

PERSONAL RESOLUTION: To be develop strategies to ensure that residents of Community Board 10 receive better services from our new Mayor.
BORO RESOLUTION: That the borough continue its renaissance and that people outside of it recognize it and to stop tagging us with outdated visions of the past.
