Police found a 24-year old stabbed in his Merry Avenue apartment in Waterbury-LaSalle early on Thursday, January 8.

The male Hispanic, who was removed to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition, sustained multiple wounds, police said.

Detectives from the 45th Precinct have all but ruled out a break-in; they suspect that the victim knew his attacker. But the man has yet to name the stabber, police said.

Update: Monday noon

Police have arrested Rafael Sanchez-Martinon, 25, of 1864 Wallace Avenue. Sanchez-Martinon has been charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
