Mother Cabrini clinches playoff spot

On Friday, February 6, the Cabrini Saints, Mother Cabrini High School’s varsity basketball team, clinched a spot in the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) playoffs with a 48-22 victory over Dominican Academy. During the first half, the Saints maintained a steady 25 point lead over Dominican.

An attempt by Dominican to cut the lead in the fourth quarter was stopped by quick steals and strong rebounds by the Saints.

Completed passes, strong rebounding and control helped lead Cabrini to victory. Leading scorers for the Saints were Pearl Henriquez ’10, Kadijah Flowers ’11, and Sadi Bridgeman ’10.

Currently, the Saints hold a record of 7-4, including only one home loss. According to Cabrini Saint and honors student, Pearl Henriquez ’10, “Captains Kadaisha Lynah ’09 and Angelica Tejada ’09, are always positive and keep the team in high spirits.”
