57th graduate class attends commencement

The 57th graduating class of Preston High School received their diplomas at the school’s Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 7. The ceremony was the culmination of a week filled with celebrations and traditions.

Seniors gathered on Tuesday, June 3, for Senior Class Night where they received yearbooks, were inducted into the school’s Alumnae Association, and viewed a slideshow depicting photographs of their four years of high school, which was created by Chuck Cormier. Christine Forlini, Preston English teacher, spoke to the graduating class about their Preston experiences and about their futures.

The Preston community gathered at St. Frances de Chantal Church on Thursday, June 5, to celebrate the Class of 2008 Baccalaureate Liturgy where the Seniors offered gifts in honor of their four years at Preston. Allison Masserano and Elizabeth Walsh, Preston Seniors, formed the Baccalaureate Liturgy Committee and Monsignor Leslie Ivers was the Celebrant for the mass.

Families and friends gathered in the backyard at Preston High School on Saturday, June 7, to watch as the graduates received their diplomas and additional awards before tossing their caps into the sky and giving their farewells to faculty and friends.
